Dr. Donald E. Jones Sr.
Dr. Donald E. Jones Sr. serves as the Senior Pastor of The Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Under his leadership the church has been impactful on the local, state and national level. Dr. Jones preached his first sermon on August 20, 1980 and was licensed and ordained under the leadership of late Dr. James E Milton of the Southern Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served as the Assistant Pastor for nine years there before being called to Greater New Hope in May of 1994.
Dr. Jones earned his Associates of Arts and Bachelor of Science Degrees from Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary; Masters in Theological Studies and Christian Ministries; Doctor of Ministry Degree in Strategic Leadership from Faith Evangelical Seminary, Tacoma, Washington.
Dr. Jones serves as President of the Congress of Christian Education of the Ohio Baptist State Convention; Moderator of the Cincinnati Missionary Baptist District Association. He has served on the Boards of: The Queen City Foundation, Cincinnati Hamilton County Community Action Agency; American Red Cross and Urban League of Cincinnati.
He has been honored as past recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award in Religion presented through the Auspices of the Ohio Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission. He also received an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Temple Bible College and Seminary in Cincinnati, OH.
Dr. Jones is married to Michelle West Jones and has three children, Dr. Angela R. Jones, Danielle M. and Reverend Dr. Donald E. (Tracey) Jones Jr.; proud grandfather of Armando and Francesca.
